Microsoft plans to more than triple its global data center capacity by 2032—increasing it from approximately 12 GW to over 38 GW—to address a shortage of computing power that has forced the company to turn away some AI and cloud business.
Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that this plan encompasses Microsoft’s own facilities and leased sites but excludes computing capacity rented from emerging cloud providers such as CoreWeave.
